You Sucjk at Photoshop

We found some really great photoshop tutorials on an old post on lifehacker the other day.
The guy that made them is Donnie Hoyle and he does an awesome job of explaining the more advanced photoshop techniques while injecting a very dark, but entertaining twist to them.
If you're a beginner learning the program or just want to get a laugh out, check out the tutorials here.
Even if you don't want to heed my advice and watch these videos you should check out Laughing Squid (the blog the videos are hosted on) anyway as its pretty cool, though right now their latest story is about Tron. :]

STAR WARS: The Old Republic
Star Wars:TOR is going to be an MMO that will not come out for quite some time because it is one of the most ambitious games ever created. It will be set in the Star Wars universe but way before Anakin, the empire, and all the things involved in Star Wars
The reason why this game is going to be so cool is because it has the chance of revolutionizing MMOs forever. One of the things is that it will have a voice over for every character and all of them talk to you. From your ai support to NPCs, every character will have their own voice (well probably for the bots since they are robots and all talk the same).
Just check out this video for more details about the voice over.

Dances with 4chan
I've found that there are two parts to the internet: the cultural side and the technical side. Staying on the more technical side of the internet, I missed out on a great many things. One such thing is 4chan. And I say "thing" for good reason.
Info I have gathered from this Walmart of the Internet:
Nobody has ever worked through LFS, though many have had the intention to do so.
If you use Windows, you're a F**.
Trolling is very important. Without it, the internet would be a boring mix of news stories and programming articles. Trolling = good.
No person on the internet can spell, going so far as to create a language of their own, separate from the now-dead l33t, but just as retarded.
Anon is everyone and anyone. And annoying.
Rule #34
And the most important thing: 4chan is nothing as it used to be.
A quick rundown of the places I've checked out so far:
/b/ is the random board, and the most infamous...though not as interesting as you'd think.
/v/ and /g/ are boring, so don't go there.
/cm/ is great if you want to look at cute anime boys...
/i/is the oekaki board. It's full of hentai, though. And lots of penises. LOTS. (Guess, if I should go hang out with the oekaki nerds if I wanted something more)
However much I want to believe that 4chan is not what it used to be, I'm sure its not true. It's like those Dars that will refuse to acknowledge that a remake of a song can be a good re-imagining and possibly better vision of the original work. But that's totally off-topic conversation...and just me being angry. :]
4chan scares the heck out of me, sometimes. Other times I thoroughly enjoy it. Yeah, its format is simple and its not the prettiest forum on the internet but it is a mainstay of thousands upon thousands of people. It's special to me because 4chan was the portal to everything great and disturbing I would later find on the internet. From 4chan I traveled to ED (Encyclopedia Dramatica, not my personal problem) to theYNC and a slew of other places to continue ruining my fragile and innocent mind.
For a closing thought, I thought it's interesting how the people that congregate at 4chan (and I guess that includes myself, now) behave in this set way, forming a kind of clique in themselves (hopefully not me, yet) that has developed its own language and expectations for itself. As I delve deeper into this mythical land, I will continue to update ya'll. But you can always check it out for yourselves. Anyways, adios!
4chan

The Palm Pre: Iphone killer?..might just be

Nextel's new Palm Pre has a touch screen to rival the Iphone's, and with its innovative multitasking screens, that allow you to alternate between watching youtube, listening to music, sending text messages, and other phone apps, may just be the Iphone killer with a qwerty keyboard to boot. Although it is now on Nextel, many people can expect the Palm Pre to hit other service providers come january. Verizon being one of the main providers! :) cant wait im definitely opting for this
Google launches new OS(operating system)..supposedly to combat microsoft

(cited from: http://googleblog.blogspot.com)
Google Chrome OS is an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at netbooks. Later this year we will open-source its code, and netbooks running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010. Because we're already talking to partners about the project, and we'll soon be working with the open source community, we wanted to share our vision now so everyone understands what we are trying to achieve.
Speed, simplicity and security are the key aspects of Google Chrome OS. We're designing the OS to be fast and lightweight, to start up and get you onto the web in a few seconds. The user interface is minimal to stay out of your way, and most of the user experience takes place on the web. And as we did for the Google Chrome browser, we are going back to the basics and completely redesigning the underlying security architecture of the OS so that users don't have to deal with viruses, malware and security updates. It should just work.
Google Chrome OS will run on both x86 as well as ARM chips and we are working with multiple OEMs to bring a number of netbooks to market next year. The software architecture is simple — Google Chrome running within a new windowing system on top of a Linux kernel. For application developers, the web is the platform. All web-based applications will automatically work and new applications can be written using your favorite web technologies. And of course, these apps will run not only on Google Chrome OS, but on any standards-based browser on Windows, Mac and Linux thereby giving developers the largest user base of any platform.

Kotaku update: People seem to have big issues about the price of Sony's PS3, but Sony has some words for them.
Sony: We Could've Come Out With PS2.5, But Didn't
There's been a lot made recently about the PS3's price point. Some say it's too expensive, some want a price cut. But for Sony exec Jack Tretton, those folks are not thinking long term.
"We could've come out with a PlayStation 2.5 for $299 or less, and in the first two or three years it would sell extremely well," he explains. "But there would be a point where people would be going, 'I am not really seeing the incremental leap.'"
For Tretton and Sony, they're "sacrificing the short term to pay dividends in the long term." Not sure how that works for Sony's bottom line, but hey, their company!
"People are having short-term thinking—the platform is not even three years old," Tretton adds. "It was $599; it's now $399." He goes on to say that Sony isn't planning to snare all customers in day one, but over a ten year period.
We're just glad that Sony didn't put out a PS2.5 so we have to buy another console. We're not made of money, you know.
What opinions do you guys have about the situation?
